Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with The Creative Lodge.

It’s the platform we recommend for every service-based business we work with. Squarespace is reliable, visually polished, mobile-friendly out of the box, and easy to manage without a developer. For businesses that sell services rather than products, it has everything you need, clean layouts, contact forms, scheduling integrations, and built-in SEO tools.

A DIY site gets you online. A professionally designed site gets you results. The difference is strategy and understanding how to structure your pages for conversion, writing copy that speaks to your audience, and making design decisions that build trust. A Squarespace designer also knows the platform’s advanced features, custom CSS options, and SEO settings that most DIY builders never touch.
-
Not necessarily. If you have a logo and a sense of your brand’s look and feel, we can work with that. If you don’t, we offer brand identity design as an add-on with logo, colour palette, typography, and brand guidelines, so your website has strong visual foundations from day one. Many clients pair branding with their website project.
-
Absolutely. Many of our clients come to us with an existing Squarespace or WordPress site that no longer reflects their business. We’ll review what you have, identify what’s working and what isn’t, and rebuild it with fresh strategy, copy, and design. We’ll make sure that any redirects and domain carry over so nothing is lost in the process.
-
If your website doesn’t reflect the quality of your work, isn’t generating enquiries, looks different from your current branding, or hasn’t been updated in two or more years, it’s probably time. A website that was right for your business two years ago may not be right for where you are now. We start every project with a discovery session to understand what’s changed and what the site needs to do next.
-
We handle the full process, from understanding your business and audience, to mapping out the content and copy, designing the layout, building the site in Squarespace, and setting up SEO foundations. You’re not just getting someone who makes it look nice. You’re getting strategic thinking about what your website needs to say, who it’s speaking to, and how it should convert visitors into clients.
-
Yes. Copywriting support is included in every website package based on a light edit of the content you provide. If you need a full copywriting service, we can write all the copy for your site based on what we learn in the discovery session. If you need additional copywriting beyond the website for things like capability statements, LinkedIn content, pitch documents, bids, proposals and tenders, or general marketing materials, we offer that as a standalone service.

Our Starter website (four pages) typically takes one to two weeks. A Growth website (five to ten pages) takes two to four weeks. Timelines depend on how quickly content and feedback are provided, but we set clear milestones at the start so you always know where things are at.
-
At a minimum: a clear homepage that communicates what you do and who you do it for, an about page that builds trust, a services page that explains your offering, and a contact page that makes it easy to get in touch. Beyond that, case studies, testimonials, a blog, and strong imagery all contribute to a website that earns credibility and generates enquiries.
-
Yes. While we’re based in Sydney, we work with businesses across Australia and internationally. The entire process, discovery, design, build, and handover, works seamlessly over video calls and email. Many of our clients have never met us in person and that hasn’t changed the quality of the work.
-
Every website we build includes meta titles and descriptions for every page, clean heading structure, descriptive image alt text, a logical sitemap, and mobile-responsive design. These foundations ensure your site is discoverable from launch. For businesses wanting to invest further in SEO, we can scope extended optimisation as an add-on.
